MBTA Spent Nearly $500k on Recruitment Last Year Alone
A recent article in Boston Magazine reports that MBTA officials spent approximately $500,000 on recruiting for 10 open positions with the agency over the last year. The article cites numbers from the Boston Herald which show the MBTA spending about $50,000 on recruiting efforts for each of the 10 available positions. Approximately 20 percent of this money was also spent recruiting the new MBTA general manager, Luis Ramirez, who, it turns out, has quite a controversial track record, including a class action lawsuit from a previous position with Global Power.
