Tentative agreement reached over MBTA bus maintenance
On January 19th the MBTA and machinists union, IAM Local 264, announced that they had reached a tentative bargaining agreement. The announcement follows months of protests by the union over the agency accepting bids to privatize bus maintenance at three garages in the Boston area.
The MBTA and union are still discussing the specifics of the agreement, and will not release the terms of the contract until it is ratified. At this time, Massachusetts Department of Transportation, the MBTA, and IAM Local 264 do not have further comment on the tentative deal.
